A little tribute to the “Space Flyman” series of bootleg action figures from the 1970s. As every thinking fanboy knows, the best cartoon collectibles are of the “off-model” variety, and the less authorized the better. Bootlegs and knock-offs are the true art of the proletariat. Those of us raised in budget-conscious households often had to make do with black-market Barbies and Batfolk as destitute children. It built character. Bitter, resentful character.
I’m continuing my tradition here of rendering stars in the night sky as flag-icon stars, a habit I picked up from Daniel Johnston. Because I don’t hafta follow your stupid “rules,” that’s why!
